We checked 20 Lichfield shops, from Dame Oliver's on Dam Street to Nero Bianco's candles, for opening hours and addresses. Updated November 2026.

Lichfield has 20 shops worth a Christmas shopping trip in 2026, and this guide puts them in one place with opening hours, addresses and what each one sells. Dame Oliver’s, Fortescues, The Kitchen Shop and Paraphernalia are long-established names most people land on. We checked every entry on 5 November 2026 against the shop’s own site, and say where we could not.

We have not shopped at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry says what the shop says it sells. Where the hours come from Visit Lichfield’s shop directory, run by the district council, rather than the shop’s own site, the entry says so. Shops often change their hours close to Christmas, so check before a special trip.

Dates for the Christmas shopping diary

Saturday 7 November: Artisan Market at Lichfield Cathedral. 10am to 3pm. Details are on our Christmas markets page.

Sunday 22 November: Christmas lights switch-on. The city council lists it from 5pm to 8pm on Market Street. Waterstones lists a Christmas Evening at its Market Street shop at 5pm the same day. Our switch-on page has the rest.

Saturday 28 November: Burntwood Christmas Festival. 4pm to 7pm at Sankey’s Corner, with market stalls and food traders.

Sunday 6 December: The Producers’ Market. 10am to 4pm on Market Square.

What is not in the diary. The Lichfield Christmas Fayre, once planned for 15 November, now says it returns in 2027. We found no 2026 date for late night shopping, and no announcement of the Victorian Christmas Market; our markets page sets out the evidence. If either appears, we will add it here.

Parking

Lichfield District Council says its city centre car parks are free from 6.30pm to 7.30am every day, as a permanent change made on 25 November 2025. Daytime charges still apply. We found no 2026 free weekend offer at the Friary multi-storey on 5 November. Visit Lichfield’s Christmas page still prints older offers, so do not rely on it. Our parking guide has the car parks and tariffs.

Out of town, and who we left out

Heart of the Country, Swinfen (WS14 9QR) and Curborough Hall Farm are shopping villages at the edge of the city, but we could not check either on a site of its own on 5 November, and neither is on Visit Lichfield’s current shop list. So they are not in the count. Rohan’s Swinfen shop lists normal hours of 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday, at Heart of the Country, which is the one first-party sign we found there. Ring your chosen shop first.

Bespoke, Market Street, is on Visit Lichfield’s list, but its website returned a “site disabled” message on 5 November, so we could not check it. The Indigo Life is listed at 10 Dam Street, but its own site says it has moved to a home studio. Neither is an announcement that a business has closed.

How we chose

We started with Visit Lichfield’s current shop directory, then opened each shop’s own site for what it sells and how long it has traded. We kept independents with a gift or Christmas angle and added Waterstones for books. We have not visited any of these shops for this guide.

For more on Lichfield this season, see things to do in Lichfield, what’s on this month, Father Christmas near Lichfield, the Cathedral light show and Christmas dinner in Lichfield, or browse our local directory.
