Christmas Day lunch near Lichfield costs £71.95 to £104.95 a head at nine pubs and hotels. 2026 prices, children's rates, deposits and festive menus.

For Christmas Day around Lichfield, most people land on the George Hotel on Bird Street (£94 in Darwin’s; the £99 Garrick Suite lunch is sold out), Brewhouse and Kitchen next door (£80) and the Bowling Green on Friary Road (£79.95). The lowest Christmas Day price here is £71.95 at the Star Hotel in Burntwood. Every entry was checked against the venue’s own site on 1 November 2026.

We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the price on the venue’s own 2026 Christmas menu, what it includes, what it says about deposits and booking, and its Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating from Lichfield District Council’s inspections. Prices are per person and exclude any service charge unless we say otherwise. Christmas Day 2026 is a Friday.

Lichfield city centre

1. The George Hotel, Bird Street

The George is a Best Western hotel on Bird Street with two Christmas Day lunches. In its Garrick Suite, lunch at 12.30pm is three courses at £99 a head including half a bottle of wine, with roast Norfolk turkey, pan-fried hake or a chestnut mushroom and kale pithivier, but the hotel lists it as sold out.

The Christmas Day lunch in Darwin’s restaurant costs £94: a buffet of salads, terrines, cold meats and seafood, then roast turkey, beef and honey-glazed gammon with the trimmings, and homemade desserts. That page gives the day as “Saturday 25th December”, so confirm the booking is for this year.

Full prepayment is required and is non-refundable. The Boxing Day carvery is £42, or £22 for children.

2. Brewhouse and Kitchen, Bird Street

Brewhouse and Kitchen is a brewpub with its own microbrewery at 1 Bird Street. Its Christmas Day menu, dated 25 December 2026, is three courses for £80 with coffee and a homemade mince pie to finish.

Mains are roast turkey with the trimmings, beef cheek braised in the pub’s own B&K bitter, roast hake and prawns on a lobster bisque risotto, or a seasonal vegetable Wellington. Before Christmas the Christmas Fayre menu runs from 19 November 2026 to 29 January 2027 at two courses for £31 (before 5pm only) or three for £36, with a £5 deposit and a pre-order.

3. The Bowling Green, Friary Road

The Bowling Green is an Ember Inns pub on Friary Road, at the edge of the city centre. Its Christmas page gives Christmas Day at three courses for £79.95, or £39.95 for children.

Before Christmas the festive set menu is two courses for £23.99, or £9.99 for children. Boxing Day is three courses for £33.50 (children £11.99), and there is a Breakfast with Santa at £12.99 a head, which Ember says includes a gift for the children.

4. The Hedgehog, Stafford Road

The Hedgehog is a Vintage Inns country pub on Stafford Road, north of the city centre. Its Christmas Day menu is three courses for £104.95, with starters including baked scallops and a duck liver parfait, and mains of roast duck, monkfish, hand-carved turkey, noisette of lamb, 50-day aged Black Angus beef or a truffled mushroom Wellington.

The children’s Christmas Day menu is £42.50. The festive menu runs from 27 November to 1 January (not on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve) from £34.95 for two courses and £37.95 for three.

6. The Whittington Arms, Tamworth Road

The Whittington Arms on Tamworth Road at Whittington Heath describes itself as “a premium pub, bar, and restaurant”. It is open from 11.30am to 6pm on Christmas Day and takes Christmas Day bookings, but neither the page nor its downloadable menu gives the price, so ask the pub.

Its booking terms ask a £10 deposit a head for Christmas Day, with full payment and pre-orders by 8 December. The festive menu is three courses for £39.95.

The Tame Otter is a Vintage Inns pub on Lichfield Road in Hopwas, between Lichfield and Tamworth. It serves the same Christmas Day menu as the Hedgehog and the Bull’s Head at a lower price: three courses for £94.95, or £41.50 for children.
