The lit-up Christmas Tractor Run leaves Rymans at 5pm on Sunday 20 December for 15 miles round Lichfield. Last year it raised over £15,000 for charity.
The Lichfield Christmas charity Tractor Run is back this year. A parade of tractors covered in tinsel and lights will set off at 5pm on Sunday 20 December for a 15-mile loop around the city.
The run starts and finishes at Rymans Christmas Trees. Along the way it passes the Bowling Green roundabout and Lichfield City station, according to South Staffs Water, which announced the date on 27 October (South Staffs Water, 27 October 2026).
Three organisers run it together:
- Rymans Christmas Trees, the family-run arable farm that hosts it
- Lichfield Young Farmers’ Club
- South Staffs Water, which is also the sponsor
Where the money goes
Last year’s run raised more than £15,000 for St Giles Hospice, Kids Village and Lichfield Young Farmers. This year all the proceeds will be split between:
- Midlands Air Ambulance
- Pathway Project
- Lichfield Young Farmers’ Club
Liv Thomas, chair of Lichfield Young Farmers, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing the streets of Lichfield light up once again as the Christmas Tractor Run returns.”
Stuart and Helen Ryman of Rymans Christmas Trees said the event “brings together the agricultural community and the wider public to celebrate British agriculture while raising vital funds and awareness for some fantastic charities”.
Taking part with a tractor
Tractor registrations are open now and must be made online. It costs:
- £25 per tractor
- £30 with a passenger

What it means for you
- Watching: the tractors leave Rymans at 5pm, so expect them on city roads in the early evening. South Staffs Water names only two points on the route, the Bowling Green roundabout and Lichfield City station; the Facebook event has the rest.
- Driving that evening: a 15-mile parade of slow vehicles will hold up traffic on the roads it uses. Allow extra time on Sunday 20 December.
- Same day at Rymans: the farm’s Santa’s grotto runs on selected dates until 20 December. Our Father Christmas in Lichfield page has the prices.
The rest of the season’s events, from the lights switch-on to the markets, are on our Christmas lights and Christmas markets pages.
