The only Bonfire Night display confirmed inside Lichfield district is the golf club's on Friday 6 November. No council display, and no times or prices published yet.
Bonfire Night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November, and as things stand nothing in Lichfield district happens on the night itself. One display has a confirmed date inside the district, at Lichfield Golf and Country Club on Friday 6 November, and it has not published a time or a price.
That is the honest position on 5 September. This page is updated as organisers announce.
There is no council display
Neither council runs one. Lichfield City Council’s events calendar carries nine events between September 2026 and the end of January 2027, and none of them is a bonfire or fireworks night. Lichfield District Council’s own 2026 events calendar, which was accurate at the time of printing in January and does list Remembrance Sunday, the Christmas Fayre and the lights switch-on, has nothing for early November either.
So the displays here are run by clubs, and clubs announce late.
Lichfield Golf and Country Club, Friday 6 November
The club, on Seedy Mill Lane, Lichfield, WS13 8HE, is running a Fireworks Night Spectacular on Friday 6 November 2026. From its own event page:
- A musical fireworks display, with the club calling it an evening of family fun
- This is an outdoor event only. There is no access to the main clubhouse via Reception during the event, and the fireworks are viewed from a designated outdoor event area
- Food and drink: an outdoor bar, a hot drinks bar, and street food vendors doing pizza, Greek food and gourmet hot dogs, plus doughnuts and waffles
- For children: face painting, glitter tattoos and bouncy castles
- Online booking only, and the club says tickets are limited
Still to be published: the gate time, the time the display goes up, and every ticket price. The club has not put any of that on the event page, and the booking widget does not show a price until it loads. The club’s number is 01543 417 333. We will add times and prices here as soon as they appear.
Dress for a field in November. The whole thing is outdoors and the clubhouse is not the fallback.
Nearby, but outside the district
Drayton Manor, at Tamworth, about eight miles from Lichfield, holds its end-of-season lakeside fireworks on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2026, closing its Blazing Halloween run. The resort’s fireworks page says the show starts “as the sun goes down” and publishes no start time or price, so book through its own site rather than a listings page.
That is a theme park ticket rather than a village bonfire, and it is in Tamworth borough, not Lichfield district. It is included here because it is the closest display with a fixed date on either side of the weekend.
The displays people ask about that have no 2026 date
Two local fixtures come up in searches every year. Neither has published anything for 2026:
- Lichfield Rugby Club, at Cooke Fields, has run a fireworks and funfair night in past years, most recently advertised on its own site for Friday 1 November 2024 with two displays and pay-on-the-gate entry. Its 2026 calendar and news index are both empty of any fireworks event.
- Whittington, a joint fundraiser between Whittington Cricket Club, Lichfield Hockey Club and Whittington Junior Football Club, held outside the village on the Elford road. The only first-party record still online is from 2015.
Neither absence means the display has gone. Club events are often announced four to six weeks out, on Facebook first, so late September and October is when to expect news. Nothing here is a reason to travel on the strength of last year’s listing.
Fireworks at home
If you are letting off your own, the national rules apply here as everywhere. GOV.UK sets the curfew at 11pm to 7am, with the cut-off pushed to midnight on Bonfire Night and to 1am on New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year. You cannot set fireworks off in a street or other public place, sparklers included. Under-18s cannot buy adult (category 2 and 3) fireworks, and category 4 fireworks are for professionals only. Registered sellers can only sell between 15 October and 10 November, 26 to 31 December, and the three days before Diwali and Chinese New Year.
Getting there and parking
Seedy Mill Lane is north of the city, off the Elmhurst road, and there is no public transport worth relying on for a 6 November evening. If you are heading into Lichfield instead, our parking page has the tariffs and the free car parks, and the roadworks and travel page carries live closures. No road closure order had been published for any November display when we checked the Public Notice Portal on 5 September.
